In addition to the physical world, which we can perceive and measure, there lies a parallel realm from which issue mysteries like lights in the sky and visitations by inhuman beings of seemingly boundless abilities who can return to their invisible worlds on a whim... worlds briefly glimpsed by shamans, mystics, and psychonauts alike. The membrane between these realms and our own is growing thin, resulting in an increase in monstrous intrusions, high strangeness, and impossible events. Secret elements of the military are aware of this impending cataclysm, but are powerless to stop it, being forced to resort to merely keeping the public ignorant of its unavoidable arrival. The oncoming clashing of worlds will result in the assured destruction of what we know as our own, but may give birth to an entirely new reality.
