Music For Montserrat was a charity concert hosted at London's Royal Albert Hall on 15th September 1997, to raise funds for the residents of Montserrat. The island had been ravaged by Hurricane Hugo in September 1989, followed by devastating volcanic eruptions in the 1990s. George had established Air Studios Montserrat in 1979, and for eleven years it hosted the greatest talents in music who recorded some of their most iconic work there. His enduring fondness for the island and its people compelled him to draw attention to and raise funds to help them build back from the series of natural disasters. #musicformontserrat #paulmccartney #markknopfler #ericclapton #sting #philcollins #eltonjohn
