ANNA returns to Rukus with ‘Haze Moon’ EP. After her work on Matador’s Ructions Remix EP 2 remixing the track ‘Stanleys’, ANNA delivers another solid EP on Rukus entitled ‘Haze Moon’, which includes Matador and Marc Houle remixes. ‘Haze Moon’ opens this enigmatic EP by mixing a dark but sensual harmony based on an intense bass field. A Twin Peaks ode if we may say so. Label chief Matador’s own remix is an elaborate riposte delivered from a higher tonality, giving the track another sense and aroma. The track ‘Far Beyond’ is built on dark synth keys that roll through a concise tempo to shape a deep, danceable song with a dense atmosphere. Creative DJ and producer Marc Houle is in charge of the remix, and his work brings to the surface the underlying personality of the original. While ANNA’s original feels as if it is anchored to the ground, the clever synth framework and ghostly vocals added by Houle give the track a much more volatile mood.
