Experience Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons (Le quattro stagioni), one of the most iconic masterpieces of Baroque music. Composed as four violin concertos, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter take the listener on a vivid journey through the changing seasons. Vivaldi transforms scenes from nature into music: birdsong and gentle breezes, summer heat and dramatic thunderstorms, festive dances and the hunt, icy winds and the cold of winter. In this series, The Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands performs The Four Seasons on period instruments, bringing out the transparency, contrasts and vibrant colours of Vivaldi’s music.
