Smooth Country, a five-piece band, plays classic country, western swing, easy listening, bluegrass, and cowboy oldies every Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Olympia Facility (2728 West Old Highway 441, Mt. Dora, FL). There is a large dance floor with clean atmosphere...NO SMOKING/ALCOHOL, and admission is very affordable at only $7.00. Light meals are available for purchase beginning at 6:00 p.m. ~ BBQ sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, French fries, onion rings, soda, tea, coffee, and snacks. Band members include David Allen Potter on fiddle and vocals, George Hawkins on lead guitar, Vern Brewer on bass guitar and vocals, Stan Chase on drums, and multi-talented David Peddicord on steel guitar, banjo, fiddle, etc. and vocals.
