My recording of the full seminal 1974 album Autobahn, originally by Kraftwerk, recorded Novermber/December 2023 and December 2024.Comprises the whole of the original album by Kraftwerk, with a bonus track of an English version of the title track, with my own translation of the lyrics.My initial concept was to 'deconstruct' the original by moving some of the parts performed on synthesisers to traditional instrumentation, but there are parts which I've retained as synth parts. It's wonderful when publishers are forward-thinking enough to do this. This project was done out of a sincere love of the original work and I didn't expect any financial reward from it. But not only have they permitted my versions, but they have shared the monetisation in 5 of the 6 tracks when they could have taken it all. This is pretty enlightened thinking when ultimately, all exposure to my versions of the tracks will do is drive people to the originals.
