'HIStory Medley' was used as the opening act of all of Michael Jackson's HIStory World Tour concerts. Jackson would first perform 'Scream', where his own studio vocals would replace sister Janet Jackson's. After that, he would perform 'They Don't Care About Us', featuring a small snippet of 'HIStory'. After a 'She Drives Me Wild' transition, Jackson would finish the medley off with 'In The Closet', where Jackson's live vocals would replace Princess Stéphanie of Monaco's, or as credited: Mystery Girl's, vocals. The medley was first performed at the first HIStory World Tour concert at Letna Park, Prague, Czech Republic on September 7, 1996, and was performed for the last time at the last HIStory World Tour concert at Kings Park Stadium, Durban, South Africa on October 15, 1997. Jackson performed the medley 82 times - once at every HIStory World Tour concert. 'Scream' was released as the lead single from Jackson's greatest hits-studio album 'HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I' (his ninth and penultimate studio album) - both 'They Don't Care About Us' and 'HIStory' appear in the same album. 'She Drives Me Wild' and 'In The Closet' can be found on Jackson's eighth studio album 'Dangerous'.
