Some words from Brandon Asraf of Brick + Mortar… “As soon as the pandemic hit, it felt like my life was an icecream cone slowly melting in my hands. This was ironically funny to me because years before as a skeptical-negative-curmudgeon, I had my friend Richie give me a tarot card reading while on tour. I remember that the deck was custom made and that my attention was drawn to an upside down melting icecream cone. He told me that it symbolized the imperfections of life and dreams; deciding whether to enjoy it anyway or choose to throw it away and start over. However, my mind saw a different meaning- I saw that the upside down icecream was actually melting up. I thought to myself, it's similar to how magma messily melts upwards to form something new like a silver lining of sorts. This metaphor rang in my head all pandemic and stuck with me. While everything around me appeared to be melting down, our streaming numbers were steadily "melting up". Melting UP is an emotional record for me and a perfect representation of my life at the moment. It's clear to see that I've always been a icecream cone "melting up" under the sun. “
