Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to produce music for the YouTube Audio Library. These songs enter the public domain and become free for anyone to download and use however they like, royalty free. I’ve always made these songs myself, out of my bedroom. This past fall, however, I decided to take it to another level by inviting in a number of talented musician friends to contribute as session musicians, and by making the whole project at 8th Street Recording Studios with the help of an incredibly talented audio engineer - Cole Williams. Cole is a primary reason this project sounds as amazing as it does. He was able to create an environment and process that brought out the talents of all of these contributors and elevated the sound of this project to something truly magical. Huge thank you to everyone who was a part of this project. These are instrumental songs. Each one can stand on its own. But this project was designed to be a musical journey that takes the listener through different spaces, emotions, and energies. Each song began with a soundscape. I spent the first couple weeks of this project going out into different places in nature and recording the sounds of that place. From forest to lake to creek to ocean, I listened, recorded, and envisioned the music that would complement those sounds. I then brought those soundscapes into the studio, described my vision for the song to each contributing musician, and then we just played the music that made sense. All of this music was improvised. We did no more than 3 takes for each song. We moved fast, and we moved free. I give you: BLUEPRINT FOR THE FUTURE
