Hermann Löhr: Stars of the East

Phillip Sear plays a 1929 suite by the British composer Hermann Löhr (1871–1943). ------------------------------------------------------ Löhr was a Plymouth, UK native, who had Australian connections, and a cousin, Marie, who was a famous actress. He was the son of Frederic Nicholls Löhr, who was also a composer. Löhr is best known today for songs like 'Where my caravan has rested'—which is guaranteed immortality by Jascha Heifetz's violin recording—and 'Little grey home in the West'.
