Oof, how to describe Punk, I dunno..... How far back shall we go? I could say the world (certainly with human beings) it's all about land ownership - & there are these 'farmers'. They have one 'ell of a lot of land & they need or want to separate & categorize all the animals they've got to each part of the land with the help of fences. "The 'Jazz' ones go over there, the 'blues' ones can go further back over there. The 'classical' ones can go here & the 'Rock' ones' can go somewhere around here too & the 'Pop' music ones can be put much nearer here because right here & now there's money to made here etc. etc. etc. As for these other ones we've got....... Fuck knows, just bung them over there in that field - see what we can get from them." & so.... that is how I could describe 'Punk Rock' & the bands associated with it. & that is a reason why many 'Punk Rock' bands sounded/sound different from one another. It could be a bit like 'Evolution' that could it not? So..... I don't fuckin' know.
