the second installment of CB's monthly video party will feature a selection of music and artist identities that operate mainly online. The increased availability of online access, coupled with the ease of use of social networking platforms has created a subsect of 'always-online' social paradigms, which has translated into an aesthetic that reflects the iconography of the world that makes our cloud-based life possible. Simplified representations of mundane objects like trashcans, folders, windows have become a commodity in interface design as means of conveying abstract concepts to an audience that is increasingly familiar with the visual language of virtual communication, informing style and substance. In this months party, we will be viewing visuals that explore these emergent concepts and styles from a variety of intermedia and video artists.
