Curated by Vlad Stoian of Warmer Climes http://warmer-climes.blogspot.com/ Warmer Climes is a longstanding new media music blog that makes the most of accessibility in the internet age and gives musicians and fans a meaningful way to connect with each other. Content is posted to a blogspot site, which houses an enormous and diverse back catalogue of what basically amounts to self-conducted artist interviews. Artists invited to contribute to the blog compile a list of a handful of their favorite songs as well as reactions and comments. These lists are referred to as 'imaginary mixtapes' because there arent any files to download or content to listen to. This haven of pure expression for musicians creates a space where fans can connect with their favorite artists as fellow music lovers, without any mediation from a label or press release. Vlad Stoian runs the blog out of his home in Romania, far from many of the media markets where these artists live and work, yet his facebook feed is an exhaustive and reliable source for trending music and video media throughout the western world. As a playlist, IT HURTS TO BUILD YOUR DREAM can be seen as a selection of artists that remind us why it's lonely at the top.
