Josef Hofmann (1876-1957) is considered one of the greatest pianists in history. With small hands and exceptional technique, he was admired by his peers as few other pianists ever were. A perfectionist of the instrument, he stopped making recordings in 1923, because he did feel they were good enough at capturing his tone. His recordings, most of which come from live performance and broadcasts, are still treasured by serious collectors and music lovers today. All of his studio recordings are represented here.
