Hélène Duret - Compositions, clarinet, bass clarinet Sylvain Debaisieux - Tenor saxophone Benjamin Sauzereau - Guitar, compositions Fil Caporali - double bass Maxime Rouayroux - drums Synestet is a call to the senses, where the perception of music becomes a mix of colours, shapes and smells. These five improv crazy musicians, with their thirst for playfulness and desire for musical expression, were brought together by clarinettist Hélène Duret to create original compositions. This novel grouping of musicians create a liberated form of music, extolling the virtues of simplicity, inventiveness, whilst highlighting the improvisational talents of its creators. The generous mix of tenor saxophone and clarinet gives the group an authentic sound, enlivened by the group’s singular approach to writing and playing. At the crossroads between jazz and contemporary music, we find therein an infusion of the spirits of Jimmy Giuffre, Thelonious Monk, Ornette Colemann, Duke Ellington, Jakob Bro, but above all, Benjamin Sauzereau, Sylvain Debaisieux, Maxime Rouayroux, Fil Caporali and Hélène Duret.
