The First Prize Winner of the Annual James Pappoutsakis Flute competition is awarded the opportunity to perform a full recital in New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall at the annual Fenwick Smith Tribute Concert. The mission of the Pappoutsakis Memorial Fund and its members is "to encourage promising flute players who are studying in the Boston area" by periodically giving awards and opportunities to outstanding young flutists. As evidenced in this Boston Debut Recital at the 4th Annual Fenwick Smith Tribute Concert (recorded at the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston) Annie Wu joins the list of not only promising, but uniquely outstanding Pappoutsakis laureates.
