In the 70s and 80s the trio Roaring Jelly were ahead of their time. The Guinness Encyclopaedia of Popular Music describes them as 'pioneers of alternative comedy before the term became fashionable'. Their noughties remanifestation, The Omega 3 (with 2 of the original RJ members including Clive) carried on the RJ tradition of inventive, sometimes irreverent, sometimes non-PC, often bizarre humour in song. TV presenter Eamonn Holmes commented, 'Catchy, clever songs, very English, very funny'.
