Tarak Das Baul popularly known as Tarak Khyapa, a renowned Baul singer belonging to Joydeb Kenduli of Birbhum started singing from 1974. He was initially trained by his father Kanailal and afterwards further enhanced his skills under the guidance of Guru Pagla Ram Das. He established his own Ashram - Baul Kutir Sebashram to create a platform for spreading Baul music and philosophy. His sons Sadhu and Kangal have been trained by him and are now established singers as well. His contribution as Guru is worth a special mention.
