Straight live, straight from the pads; running a beat on the SP-404MKII tonight. No talking through the process, no breakdown. Just me and the machine, playing what's already in the Vault. Sample roots go back to old records; but where they're from stays with me. No sample snitching, that's the code. Most of these sessions happen after my two girls are asleep. That's the studio window I get these days, so every session in this series comes from whatever hour I can grab at night.
