DAMOYEE extends an invitation into her newfound galaxy of illuminating soundscapes and evocative lyricism with her coming-of-age project PURPLEXED. The title PURPLEXED fuses purple (her favorite color and her aura as proclaimed by one of her collaborators who has synesthesia) with the perplexing journey she's had over the past four years of her life. While attending college full-time and simultaneously balancing her existent career as a film composer and live performer, the acclaimed artist navigated her way through the complexity and stress of becoming an adult and chronicled her innermost reflections and experiences. With each song representing a personal circumstance, DAMOYEE masterfully unites emotion, color, and sound to unveil this autobiographical coming of age amalgam of pop, R&B, electronic, jazz, and folk. While live instrumentation is commonplace for the accomplished composer, she couples that tradition with embracing her new love for electronic production.
