The late and much loved Dr John Harrison served for 50 years as Musical Director and organist at St Mary's Church, Tenby. On 12th September 2012 he gave an all-too rare recital, showing his passions and talents. I recorded the concert with his permission, but at the time he was not satisfied with the performance. Specifically, having heard the recordings, he said that in hindsight he would have chosen different "stops" We always hoped to do another recording, especially after the organ underwent a long repair/upgrade in 2022/23. Sadly, it was not to be. John passed away suddenly on 27th August 2024. Having consulted widely, I decided to upload these recordings as a memorial to John, and because of the sentimental value to so many in our community. This recital contains many items he played at weddings , funerals, special occasions and occasional solo pieces in concerts by Tenby Male Choir and others. The recordings also have John introducing the pieces, and explaining their musical importance. As Dylan Thomas said "And Death shall have no Dominion": Rest in Glory John.
