I decided to do something a little bit different with this symphony. I've decided to make this symphony a kind of tour of the USA in pictures. Instead of focusing on just one perticular area, I've tried to cull together photos from various regions. Furthermore, these regions are grouped together by movements, i.e. first movement is equivalent to the Northeast. Of course this is not what Dvorák had in mind when he composed this masterpiece in the early 1890s, but it is a kind of visual analog. Music written "from the new world" accompanied by pictures from the "new world".
