On his new album Tales From The Lost Cities, producer and rapper Spoek Mathambo revisits his first love, Hip-Hop, with a project steeped in rich storytelling, razor sharp social commentary and an endless reserve of gymnastic flows. The concept album drives a cross section through South Africa 2020, to give a view of a highly complex and volatile society struggling to come to grips with its post Apartheid “rainbow nation” dream/nightmare.
