- UNDER RECONSTRUCTION - Vocal Arranges playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list... VERY LONG DESCRIPTION AHEAD One of the most prominent things about Touhou Project is its amazing music. ZUN is an amazing composer, creating extremely catchy upbeat and amazing melodies that never seem to get old no matter how many times you give them a listen. And for someone who is self-taught, being able to create such memorable tracks is quite a feat and one I hope to someday follow in. However, I am not the only one who enjoys and is inspired by ZUN's work. Many prominent doujin music circles have emerged, creating their own interpretations of ZUN's music and borrowing their melodies, creating even more amazing music from already amazing music. This is a collection of my favorite instrumental interpretations. It's expanded quickly and is very likely to expand even more as even more amazing arranges and covers emerge (seriously, Touhou's music, both official and doujin, is endless!). Unlike my Vocal playlist, which is a little more scattershot, this playlist is arranged a bit more logically. Songs are more or less arranged by genre and circle, while still trying to emulate a musical journey. Within each grouped music genre, songs are ordered by appearance in their respective games. Most groups are ended with an arrange of Bad Apple!! fitting the genre due to the personal meaning it has of introducing me to the niche genre of music known as "ZUN-style", and subsequently the entirety of Touhou Project as a whole. Similar to how ZUN creates his music to mirror a journey through the world he creates in his games, I wanted to have the music flow as you journey through this playlist, slowly expanding your horizons on the niche music genre that makes up the Touhou music doujin community. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the melodies brought to you by our high priest, lord, and savior: Jun'ya "ZUN" Ota, and his many fans throughout the world. PLAYLIST SYNOPSIS (OUTDATED, WIP): The very beginning welcomes you to Touhou with a drop-dead beautiful animation of the characters, and the next couple pieces hail the mighty ZUN with stunning arranges of his self-proclaimed theme, arranged to celebrate his wedding. The next couple-dozen pieces are arrangements by XL Project and Secret Messenger, providing wonder and mystique as you begin your musical journey. These circles also have a personal meaning, as their arrangements are some of the first I heard of Touhou and introduced me to the doujin music culture surrounding it. Following are the amazing Tokyo/Kyoto Active NEETS with jazz and orchestral arranges, followed by Melodic Taste's epic orchestral arranges, and then general orchestral pieces. As a palette-cleanser after the boisterous orchestral arrangements, we relax to the soothing violin melodies of TAMusic. To pump you back up again, we then journey through TAM's high-energy rock-violin arranges followed by various other violin/piano pieces. After that, its time to do a little jig as we dance our way through Foating Cloud's Irish folk arranges, alternating between merriment and relaxation with flutes, fiddles, and the beautiful instrument known as the Erhu. Coming up after Floating Cloud are k-waves Lab, with extremely faithful interpretations of the original melodies using traditional folk instruments. After them come general folk arranges before delving back into mystique. Hachimitsu-Lemon brings soothing easy listening interpretations that are strikingly reminiscent of fantasy RPG OSTs. The journey then follows a general potpourri of interpretations, ranging from soothing waltzes to Nu-jazz to the unique stylings of RD-Sounds to calming lullabies. This section is ended with two arranges of "Sakura Sakura ~ Japanize Dream" that evoke the feelings of completing one journey and readying for the next. A new journey begins with a banger thanks to Hatsunetsumiko's, Shibayan Records, and Taomonsen with their electronic beats, segwaying us into hard rock. Interpretations of "Greenwich in the Sky" transition us from rock to jazz as Xion Music greets us with some catchy jazz tunes, and leaves us with general jazz arranges. Following our sendoff from jazz with yet more Bad Apple!! we round the final stretch of our journey with electronic house sets arranges by the amazingly talented Rin of Kuroneko Lounge (https://www.youtube.com/user/Rinx2mus..., who ends our journey properly.
