New online music class! Learn to play famous protest songs by Black American musicians. Choose your level based on your experience. We know that you’ll be missing pep band this fall. We also know lots of students would love a pep band experience and don’t usually get one. The Virtual Protest Songs Project is a way for all of us to engage with famous protest songs written in a groove based style. You’ll also learn the historical significance of each artist featured, and the protest story they tell in their song. This program is available for ALL instruments, including voice and ukulele, and your part is transposed for YOU. Your backing track will let you hear the other parts as well, so that you can play along with the full arrangement. This program is online for Winter/Spring 2021 due to COVID-19.
