Sample-based composition, improv and recordings ¬- random moments, deconstructing context, fragmenting intonations, social interactions, textures, human behavior, surfaces, surroundings, other realities and possibilities. I settle in the realms of subjectivity.“ Hidhawk is the musical alter ego of Haydeé Jiménez. The Mexican-based artist and cultural entrepreneur is running a busy life organizing events and cultural projects alongside the border of Mexico and the US. During the night, bedtime stories like “Alpagain“ evolve from the field recordings she is collecting on her various journeys. Alpagain consists of recordings from Istanbul, Tijuana, Berlin and Salzburg, featuring sounds of alpine instruments such as the alphorn, ocarina and hammered dulcimer (“Hackbrett”). The 15 minutes track is brought to the club context on the B-side of the record with a driving remix by Gerald Peklar and a dub retreatment by Analog Solutions mastermind Eduardo De La Calle.
