Kashmir

Kashmir is an eclectic trio consisting of violin, guitar and cello. This very unique ensemble performs a diverse range of styles including pop, jazz, classical, Celtic and Bollywood. In their many years of experience playing together Kashmir has performed everything from Abba to Bach, Bruno Mars, Sinatra, Coldplay, Vivaldi, Mozart, Led Zeppelin and more. One factor that makes this ensemble so exceptional is how the three instruments blend so well together. While performing the more classical/traditional styles, you will hear the cello lay down the foundation with long, sweeping sustained notes; the guitar providing the inner harmonies; and the violin carrying the melody. For the pop and jazz styles, you will hear the sound of the cello laying down the backbeat or walking bass line with the violin and guitar improvising around the solid foundation of the cello. This one of a kind ensemble always raises eyebrows and can be expanded to include piano, tabla, mridangam, dholak, dhol drum, sitar and more One of many musicians on the V & G Entertainment roster, this ensemble plays live music for weddings and special events in the Vancouver area as well as Whistler, Squamish, the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and Seattle, WA, USA. Other professional ensembles on the V & G roster include string trios, jazz quartets, their ever popular Violin/Guitar duo, Platform 2 and 3/4 (2 violins and cello) and numerous soloists.
