The front channels (RF + LF) and the back channels (RB + LB) are extracted by the use of QS Matrix Decoding Software. The quadraphonic version is the special edition of the single from which only the back/rear speakers have been extracted by decoding with a QS decoder. Especially for people who cannot do this themselves or for educational purposes. By using the QS encoded Album LP (vinyl record), I could compare the channel extracts with the separaration of the four channels extracted by: - The QS Vario Matrix Decoder, created by Sansui in 1973 with its 20 dB separation in all directions, and - The 4 channel sound extracted by QS Matrix Decoding Software, 40 dB separation - 4 channel sound of the QUAD 8-track tape The 8-track tape had the best channel separaration but the software matrix comes close.
