These are my remakes of the Ultima VI: The False Prophet soundtrack. I started this project in 2015, and by 2021 I felt I could improve my original remake, which I have left up for reference. In the 2021 remake, I felt the portal fantasy, mixed with the era in which it came from, called for an amalgamation of symphony and retrosynth styles, so I embraced it. This soundtrack actually had 6 different versions for 6 different sound cards, so there are slight variations between them. This soundtrack marks the end of Ken Arnold's tenure as the lead composer for the Ultima series - who had been making the majority of the music for it up to this point. The torch was passed to Todd Porter, but then he got switched out for Herman Miller, who arranged the soundtrack and reused some tracks from Ultima V. The result is that this soundtrack was composed by no less than 4 guys, all of who were pretty dang good at what they do: Ken Arnold, Todd Porter, Herman Miller, and the long dead Thomas Arne for the classic "Rule, Britannia!". Dominated by minor keys, and with song titles like "I Hear You Crying" and "Can't Remove the Pain" I can only suspect that some serious stuff went down in Todd Porter's life at this time, but that's my speculation. There's a sharp contrast between composers, yet somehow through all the chaos in production it all seems to come together anyway.
