RF: A superb show in Wolverhampton last night. Was it King Crimson? No, and it didn't need to be - it's BEAT! The first show of any tour provides its challenges - guitars stop working or disappear from the mix, is it 5 or 4 beats at the end of Red? - and none of it matters. Gratitude to Ade, Tony, Stevie and Danny for keeping the music fresh and alive. My only disappointment: not the right time for a monster margarita with my old bud Ade after the show. Others noted that Steve Hogarth (from Marillion) was in the audience! Setlist & Technical Details: Tracks like "Red" and "Thela Hun Ginjeet", some audience members noting initial mix issues and bass frequency resonances that leveled out during the set. BEAT is a supergroup featuring Tool drummer Danny Carey alongside former King Crimson members Adrian Belew (guitar/vocals) and Tony Levin (bass/vocals), joined by guitar virtuoso Steve Vai. The project is dedicated to a creative reinterpretation of King Crimson’s iconic 1980s albums: Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. The group launched its inaugural North American tour in September 2024, performing to sold-out crowds across the continent. Following extensive touring in North America, Mexico, and South America in 2025, BEAT released the live album and film BEAT LIVE on September 26, 2025. The band is scheduled to bring their 1980s King Crimson repertoire to Europe during the summer of 2026.
