Entering into the world of night can be a peaceful or a frightening thing. Some find the dark cold and isolating, a reminder of death; while others take comfort in the stillness and calm, meditating in the wonders of nature. This season, Winter’s Night explore all of those sides. Together we hear the Northern Lights dance with Ēriks Ešenvalds, we welcome a red rider, and we traverse the lush chords of a newly composed mass, "Messa," by Icelandic composer Magnús Ragnarsson in its North American premiere. Then leaving behind the world of winter, we bring light and hope with pieces such as "My heart be brave" by Marques L. A. Garrett and "A Quiet Night - Tyhoyi Nochi" by Natalia Tsupryk; our sounds unbroken and free.
