For those who love retrowave/horrorwave today I’ll share with you “Pogo and The Crawl Space Boys. The group does a great job of cooking “Murder, Synth and Mayhem” creating a hallucinatory atmosphere. The band takes you on a odyssey through the dark corners of the mind, the beat leaves you mesmerized. Impossible to not think about blades slicing through a coke addicts throat or about the 80s’ dance scene. As the album spins you just want to pass through the hallucination. But it can be a bit difficult to absorb for those who are not accustomed to this kind of music, but that is fully compensated by the musicianship of the guys. One of my favorites is the track “Mirror Escape”. I knew would like it once I heard the power of the beat and the initial riff. Another track, “Nowhere To Love” guys, c’mon, if your like murder rock you must listen to this track! “Industrial Love” is THE track, When you think that guys can’t pass the limits, they go ahead and show you more and more, in this track you can hear that heavy guitar, comes to mind something like Joe Satriani or Jack The Ripper. And the album closes with “Unveiling Secret Tears”, here we have the lowest tones of The Sweet Sounds of Knife Play. More gentile than the other tracks ends the debut album honorably.
