CROATIA IN DUB moves beyond cultural appropriation and takes the opposite path: it's an artistically and ethically grounded collaboration built on deep listening, respect, and exchange. The project involved singers, musicians and audiovisual artists. They have recorded six traditional Croatian songs, their remixed reinterpretation, a documentary revealing the making of the album and fascinating insights into Croatian music.Croatia in Dub is a multidisciplinary project that blends traditional Croatian vocal music with contemporary electronic music reinterpretations. The reinterpretation of the folk songs helps to share them in a new context and bridge the gap between folk traditions and modern electronic music.Developed by italian producer and multi-instrumentalist Lo.Renzo the project features the Zagreb-based vocal ensemble Čipkice.
