Hello, I’m benihakobedan. One of the surprisingly easiest things I’ve ever done was driving abroad. Even in my own country, I used to hesitate to rent a car, thinking, “How could I possibly drive an unfamiliar car on unfamiliar roads?” But before I knew it, I had traveled to about 40 countries and regions by rental car. It still feels surreal that I’ve come this far. Of course, there are risks involved, but my curiosity and desire to “just give it a try” always won out. Being able to see the cities and stunning landscapes I once saw in books and on TV as a child—by driving there myself—feels like such a luxury. Driving abroad may seem intimidating at first, but surprisingly, it’s easy to adapt to different steering wheel positions, road layouts, and even the local driving manners and rhythms unique to each country. Human adaptability is truly amazing! These days, smartphone navigation apps have become so convenient that they make it easy to set destinations and check routes abroad, lowering the barriers to driving overseas significantly. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the people in each of the countries I have visited, who made it possible for me to drive safely and comfortably, and to everyone who welcomed me as a traveler. This playlist (my in-car video channel) was born from my own experience of searching for videos made by ordinary people like me who were driving abroad. I thought, “Maybe my videos could be helpful too.” Whether you’re looking for information on driving abroad, tips for first-time international drivers, or want to learn about local road conditions, I hope these videos will be helpful. If there’s a country whose driving footage you’d like to see, please let me know! こんにちは、benihakobedanです。これまでにやってきたことの中で、意外にも簡単だったことのひとつが「海外での運転」でした。自分の国ですら、「知らない車を、知らない道でどうやって運転するの？」と思って、レンタカーを借りるのをためらっていたくらいです。でも気がつけば、レンタカーで約40の国と地域に旅してきました。自分でも、ここまで来たことが今でも不思議に感じます。もちろんリスクはありますが、「とにかくやってみたい」という好奇心と気持ちが、いつも勝っていたように思います。子どもの頃に本やテレビで見た街や絶景を、自分で運転して見に行けるというのは、本当に贅沢なことだと感じています。海外での運転は最初こそハードルが高く思えるかもしれませんが、実際はハンドルの位置や道路のつくり、国ごとの交通マナーやリズムにも意外とすぐに慣れるものです。人間の適応力って本当にすごい！最近では、スマートフォンのナビアプリもとても便利になり、海外で目的地を設定したりルートを確認したりするのも簡単になって、海外ドライブのハードルはかなり下がったと思います。私がこれまで訪れた国々で、無事に、快適に運転できたのは、そこに暮らす人たちの支えがあったからです。旅行者である私を受け入れてくれたすべての人々に、心から感謝しています。このプレイリスト（私の車載動画チャンネル）は、かつて自分が「普通の人が海外で運転している映像」を探していた経験から生まれました。「もしかしたら、自分の映像も誰かの役に立つかもしれない」と思ったのです。海外での運転情報や、初めて国際ドライブに挑戦する人へのヒント、現地の道路事情を知りたい方にも、この動画たちが少しでも参考になればうれしいです。運転の予定がない方にも、行ってみたい国の風景を楽しんでもらえたらと思います。「この国の運転風景が見たい！」というリクエストがあれば、ぜひ教えてくださいね。
