Shakti personifies the universal cosmic energy as the Divine Mother, she being responsible for all the three phases - creation, preservation and destruction. Shakti mantras are very powerful for invoking the inner strength and potential within you. The very utterance or thinking of each syllable of a mantra is charged with power, and fills you with the cosmic energy of the divine. It is important to choose a mantra for the state you want to achieve, and chant repeatedly with faith. Faithful repetition will fulfill all your inner desires both material and spiritual, destroy all accumulated sins and ultimately lead to liberation.
