You can pin a coarse wool fabric to a piece of silk, and you’ll get a garment that’s strong, yet soft to the touch. That’s one way to describe the character of this new, and also debut, album - where dirty basslines and beats are overlaid with smooth chords and synthesizer melodies. The album moves you, then halts.
