This playlist features performances and conversations from a commissioning project in collaboration with five emerging QTPOC (Queer/Trans People of Color) composers from Oberlin College and Conservatory. Centering voices and perspectives too often unheard, the project expands the string quartet canon through new approaches to sound, storytelling, and collaboration. Included are world premiere performances by Zola Saadi-Klein, Max Lang, Calvin Ray Shawler, Maya Irizarry Lambright, and Daniel Lasagna, alongside a pre-concert discussion offering insight into the composers’ creative processes and their work with the Poiesis Quartet.
