Poems by Signe Aurell performed and recorded by Maja Heurling, Ola Sandström, Livet Nord, and Daniel Wejdin in Dyvik, Sweden, on August 9, 2022. In 2022, and in collaboration with the Sustaining Scandinavian Folk Arts in the Upper Midwest project at the Center for the Study of Upper Midwestern Cultures at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, musicians Heurling and Sandström, joined by Livet Nord and Daniel Wejdin, recorded six songs, from the album they released based on the poetry of Signe Aurell, a Swedish immigrant to Minneapolis who worked as a laundress and seamstress and organized Swedish women for the Industrial Workers of the World. The group came together to record them all outdoors in the Stockholm archipelago.
