When the audio engineer can be quoted as saying: "They're a high-octane pop punk band cut from the threads of post-2000s garage rock and riot girl energy", you drive down to SLO and you film it. Duh. This Santa Barbara-based whatchamacallit band already has had a seasoned career touring alongside some big names: STRFKR, Thundercat, Peach Pit, Wilt, Couch Dog, Sluttony, Queentide, and Dante Elephante. (The band specifically noted that they formed in Isla Vista.) You know someone's really from somewhere when they reference an unincorporated community rather than the mother city. Anyways, the murmurings we heard online about this band were actually quite loud and clear: they are absolutely amazing live and put on some killer shows. Years of experience touring has wiggled its way into the band's DNA. Their genre-defiant sets ensure the attention of diverse crowds and their endearing cornball personalities clash with the expectations of a band with "riot girl energy" in a way that can only be described as entertaining.
