Elson Soares is a Cape Verdean DJ and producer based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Deeply influenced by his roots in Mindelo, he merges the vibrant rhythms of Carnival and Capoeira percussion to create an energetic and distinctive sound. Elson’s passion for music began at a young age, spending countless hours experimenting with sounds. He was always the kid playing at high school parties, driven by a love for bringing people together through music. In 2018, he discovered his gift behind the decks and became determined to pursue his calling. When the world went into lockdown in 2020, he began producing his own beats. On February 2, 2024, he released his first collaboration, “In the Middle” featuring Xa, followed by his debut track “Sauna.” In 2024, Elson released more music, including “Free Mind” featuring Renata Santos and “Cultura d'um Criol” with Dannie Ferreira—a culmination of years of hard work and sonic exploration. Culture is characterised by its innovative approach to genre fusion, intricate melodies, and hypnotic drum patterns.
