Jillian is an award-winning, multi-instrumentalist from Upstate New York and living in Northern Virginia who began playing music at the age of three. She took a 15 year hiatus from writing and performing her own music and only began hitting open mics in 2019 after being encouraged by friends and other songwriters. She has been on a tear ever since, winning audiences with her deft and percussive guitar style, soothing vocals, and her warm, unassuming, and self-deprecating stage presence. She has won multiple awards (six Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest Awards amongst them), playing shows in the Northeast, collaborating with other songwriters and other songwriters, working as a session musician on recordings, and releasing her debut EP, "Hangin' On", in June of 2020. In August of 2021, she successfully fundraised her first full-length studio album with Plaid Dog Studios in Boston. The new album is slated for release in 2022. Her songs are personal, yet universal, clever yet sometimes disarming.” — Guitar International Magazine “Jillian Matundan has a husky voice that can be intimate, sensual or strong – with a percussive guitar sensibility that endangers folk audiences with imminent boogie.” — rob Hinkal, ilyAIMY
