Dlala Thukzin, born Thuthuka Wandile Zindlovu and raised in Lamontville, Durban. A DJ, producer and label founder, Dlala Thukzin has become one of South Africa’s leading dance-music innovators, blending Gqom, Afro Tech, Amapiano and 3-Step into a sound rooted in Durban and built for global stages. His journey began at 12, carrying his late uncle’s sound equipment to township gigs before breaking into the industry through production work for Babes Wodumo and West Ink. Since then, he has built a catalogue led by hits such as “Phuze,” “iPlan,” “AmaGear” and “Sohlala Sisonke.” His album Finally Famous Too won Best Dance Album at SAMA31, while 2026 saw new projects including Izinja Zam: Vol. I and Smoothie with Funky Qla.
