Poi Beaul

Poi Beaul blends the sound of reggae music with ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi to perpetuate traditional Hawaiian concepts and values; re-telling moʻolelo through a contemporary art form. This approach helps bridge younger generations with the wisdom and perspectives of our kūpuna. Many of these moʻolelo carry valuable lessons that can guide us into the future. And as music reflects the human experience, these songs also share my personal journey as a kanaka living in the 21st century. Poi Beaul and the Kuʻi ʻAi is an ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi roots reggae band that’s dedicated to serving the ʻāina and the community; chanting songs of ʻāina justice and moʻolelo. Members of this band perpetuate culture through music and ʻāina restoration projects.
