Initially formed as a one-man project in Malang, East Java, Indonesia in 2014, Beeswax has since evolved into an emotive trio consisting of Bagas Yudhiswa Putra (guitar/vocal), Putra Vibrananda (bass/vocal), and R. Yanuar Ade Laksono (drums). Rooted in Midwest emo and its global revival, the band built their early identity through raw, lo-fi releases on SoundCloud. Beeswax began with their debut EP “First Step” (2014), followed by their first full-length album “Growing Up Late” (2015), and a contribution to the compilation “Emotion, No” (2016). They gained further recognition with their second album “Saudade” (2018), alongside singles “Maze of Mind” featuring Steffani BPM and “Pills”. In 2019, they continued with releases including “Best Kept Secret: A Three Way Split” and the single “Admire” featuring Tiara Larasati. After a brief period, Beeswax returned in 2023 with a split release with Nomos Amata and the single “Chew It All”, marking a shift towards a more refined sound. This progression led to the release of “THE BRIDGE OF EMPTYNESS” and “TAKE ME HOME” in 2026, culminating in their third full-length self-titled album “Beeswax”. The record reinterprets their earlier material, highlighted by “THE MOST PATHETIC ONE ON PLANET” featuring Dochi Sadega. Throughout their career, Beeswax has consistently channeled themes of sadness, anger, and introspection into their music, evolving from a bedroom project into a fully realized band while staying true to their emotional core.
