Animo flute and piano duo

Welcome to Animo's YouTube channel! We are an innovative contemporary flute and piano duo, carving out own path with a series of initiatives and collaborations since our Launch in 2019. We are: flautist Sarah Waycott and pianist Yanna Zissiadou. We came together in 2018 to form an idea for a contemporary music duo that will break through the “Classical Music” norms and perform music that is soulful and accessible by all, regardless of its origins, style and medium. ANIMO’s repertoire is an ever-growing eclectic mix of works that have been influenced by many different musical styles and genres without being restricted to one. To-date, we have commissioned 10 diverse composers to write music for us. We wanted to create a new repertoire for flute and piano that includes electronics, soundscapes and colourful extended instrumental techniques. Working against the constraints of the pandemic, we started broadcasting on YouTube with 'Tuesday Live at 12:45' with the intention of giving a moment's breath to our audience to recharge, relax and enjoy some of the world's most beautiful music which you can still find on YouTube. You can find us on https://www.animofluteandpiano.co.uk/ from where you can follow us on SoundCloud, Facebook, Instagram and, of course, YouTube. Enjoy the music!
