Smif-N-Wessun, the Brooklyn duo of Tek and Steele, emerged in 1993 on Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage, helping define the signature sound of Boot Camp Clik. Representing Brownsville and Bed-Stuy, they introduced gritty lyricism and coined the nickname “Bucktown” with their breakout single. Their 1995 debut, Dah Shinin’, produced by Da Beatminerz, is widely regarded as a classic of East Coast hip-hop and was named one of The Source’s “100 Best Rap Albums.” Following a legal dispute with Smith & Wesson, they recorded as Cocoa Brovaz before reclaiming the Smif-N-Wessun name in 2005. Since then, they've released acclaimed projects including Reloaded, Monumental (with Pete Rock), The ALL (with 9th Wonder & The Soul Council), and 2025’s Infinity, reaffirming their enduring influence and legacy in Hip-Hop.
