kiyu combines alternative pop with the care, adventurousness, and the personal touch of an early 2000’s cassette. Navigating through the jumble of emotions we face everyday, kiyu takes his work a step further, discussing his own, and many others’, inner demons: anxiety, depression, loneliness. These are concepts kiyu believes are essential to speak about but get overlooked. Having grown up in Hong Kong, kiyu listened to Beyond and Eason Chan while rocking out to artists like The Script, One Ok Rock, and Lauv. It’s clear his sound comes from the variety of sounds he loves, mixing them into one giant melting pot. Starting his journey at the end of high school, to releasing his first song at the beginning of college, he has continued towards his goal of playing live at the biggest stadium to offer a moment for fans to escape their worries in our hectic lives. kiyu’s been featured on playlists such as Spotify’s +852 Rising, Apple Music’s Barefoot Acoustic, New Music Friday, and Asia’s Trending New Music (新歌熱播). kiyu’s global reach has led him to over 40 thousand listens on Apple Music and over 20 thousand listens on Spotify. kiyu has performed at Universal's Keshi-Kult One Year Anniversary, CK Studios’ Acoustic Nights, East Berlin, and many more. Hoping to play songs with a full band and backing, he continues to look for more opportunities and is currently working on new music.
