KOMPLICHATED

KOMPLICHATED is a US–Philippines dubstep duo formed by James Schmidt and Mark Aco Ocampo. Known for their cinematic and metal-infused approach to bass music, the pair merge brutal sound design with emotional storytelling — crafting an identity that sits between chaos and control. Drawing inspiration from video games, dark fantasy worlds, and heavy music, KOMPLICHATED’s sound fuses dubstep, metal, and cinematic bass into an immersive experience. Their tracks often feature dramatic melodies, aggressive drops, and haunting atmospheres that push the boundaries of modern bass music. In 2025, the duo made a strong mark in the global bass scene after winning Lektrique’s international remix contest, earning recognition from artists like Excision, PhaseOne, Calcium, SNAILS and many more, and being featured in Midnight Rebels’ “8 Filipino Electronic Producers to Listen in 2025.” Splitting their base between the United States and the Philippines, KOMPLICHATED represents the next generation of bass music, global in influence, cinematic in execution, and driven by a relentless passion for sound innovation. Their name says it all. KOMPLICHATED is more than music. It’s emotion, chaos, and energy, forged into sound.
