Damion Darrel Warren best known as Teacha Dee, is a Jamaican reggae singer and former educator. He is best known for his hit singles "Smoke and Fly", "Jah Jah Is Calling" and "Rastafari Way" which was placed in James Bond's "No Time To Die" in 2021 . Teacha Dee was a full-time employee for the Ministry of Education Youth and Culture in Jamaica when he started recording and releasing songs in the midd 2000. Teacha Dee's somewhat absence from the english market was as a result of the type of songs he broke into the European markets with, which was hidden in order to preserve the nature of his working relationship with the Jamaican Government at the time. Jamaica then, was not in favour of Marijuana Decriminalisation and legalization which was the main message in "Smoke and Fly". His stage name was derived from the Jamaican creole for "teacher" and a shortening of his childhood nickname "Demus". Teacha Dee remains the only Jamaican Educator to date, to record so many reggae hit songs whilst in service, in a kind of double role, one as a Teacher and the other as an Internationally known Reggae Star. Since resigning his post from the classroom, Teacha Dee has continued to make history on the behalf of Jamaica, within the reggae, roots reggae and dancehall music markets internationally.
