Luke Herbert is a Dallas-based indie pop artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. After years working in Los Angeles as an in-house producer for Cash Money West, he returned to Texas in 2023 to build something of his own—personal, stripped of pretense, and rooted in truth. His debut album, Forever Came Too Soon (out May 2), is fully self-written, self-produced, and self-performed. The project weaves together raw vocals, groovy progressions, and spacious analog textures to explore themes of loss, spiritual awareness, and emotional reckoning. It’s music for people who think deeply, feel fully, and don’t need everything polished to be moved. Influenced by the storytelling of James Taylor, the heart of Citizen Cope, the vocal approach of Miguel, and the ethereal world-building of chillwave-era artists like Washed Out and Toro y Moi, Luke's sound is a quiet rebellion against the overly programmed pop machine. It's dreamy without drifting, intentional without trying too hard. Luke creates the kind of music that doesn’t just soundtrack a mood—it shapes one.
